This timely show gathers vibrant & dynamic artworks from two of our Contemporary sculptors: Carolina Sardi and Norman Mooney. Similar in their organic approach to form and reference to the natural world, both Sardi and Mooney's work evokes these sensibilities through both two- and three-dimensional works.
Carolina Sardi is known for her organic sensibilities that reflect her interest in basic interactions of life. Her wall compositions, installations and free standing works all utilize the space in which they occupy as a visual support, an important element in the final composition of her works. Her organic, biomorphic shapes and geometric figures evoke representations of nature, the cosmos and other natural phenomena.
Norman Mooney makes works that are at once physical and metaphysical, exploring the elemental and cyclical synergies of nature. Materiality, pattern, scale and experience are key concerns within his practice. Norman makes sculpture, interior and exterior installations, drawings and works on paper, his methodology is one of experimentation and process with materials such as smoke, glass, steel and resin.
