Jean-François Rauzier was invited by the Fondation Claude Monet to spend 3 months from May 2022 living and working in the grounds of Claude Monet's famous home and gardens, from which the Impressionist master took much inspiration later in life.
Jean-François took thousands of images during his residency, shooting the abundant gardens, the legendary water lily pond and Japanese bridge, as well as the interior of the house itself, including Monet's studio, the kitchen and bedrooms.
Our Giverny exhibition coincided with the 150th anniversary of the Impressionist movement, which was be commemorated in France with many events and celebrations. Monet’s painting Impression, soleil levant of 1872 gave the daring new art movement its name.
Throughout this stunning new series, Rauzier responds to the great legacy of Monet. Each composition contains many hundreds of images, stitched together using his amazing creativity, art historical knowledge and technical skill. Rauzier’s work is represented in many important international museum and private collections.
