Born in 1964, Yamamoto is known worldwide for her enchanting depictions of children wearing animal costumes and having enigmatic expressions. Her work explores the theme of childhood subconscious, investigating child psychology as a trampoline to adult introspection. In this oil painting, Yamamoto depicts a young boy with crossed arms, wearing a bird costume and looking directly at the viewer.
The artist received her Masters Degree in Fine Art from Musashino Art University in Tokyo, and has exhibited in major galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Tapei and elsewhere.
